Special duty, New Orleans, 1861. CSS McRae, New Orleans station, 1861. CSS Virginia (Merrimack), until her destruction, May 11, 1862; participated in the Battle of Hampton Roads, Va., March 8-9, 1862. Drewrys Bluff, Va., 1862. First lieutenant, Mobile Squadron, 1862-1864. Mobile station 1864-65. Paroled May 14, 1865, Jackson, Miss.
