The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 6 8 p.m.
Mrs. Davis' funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Second Street Presbyterian Church, Albemarle, with Rev. John Black officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle.
Born January 24, 1927 in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Duckery Ragsdale. She was educated at Albemarle City Schools and was a retired employee of Wisscassett Mills in Albemarle.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Second Street Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Circle member. She loved cooking, knitting and cross-stitch. She was an avid volunteer at Hospice and in the Cheer Shop at CHS-Stanly.
She was married to James E. Davis who predeceased her on January 11, 2011. She is survived by her son, Eddie Davis of Luray, VA., her daughter, Kathy Hatley and husband Gerald of Dunn, NC., two grandchildren, Jennifer Hatley-Hill (husband James) and Susan Hatley, five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tew, Conner Wood, Madison Hill and Gracie Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second St. Presbyterian Church, Hospice of Stanly County and Uwharrie, or the Gideon International organization.
