Services for Leah Mae James, 98, of Tyler, will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 3:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. James passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Tyler.

She was born June 22, 1919 in Benson, Louisiana to John G. and Hattie Elizabeth Morrison Canterbury.

Leah graduated with a B.S. degree from Louisiana Tech University, she was a great believer in higher education. She was the owner and operator of Leah’s Antiques.

Leah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lamar James; son, John Robert James and brothers, Gordon Canterbury and Jamie Canterbury.

She is survived by her loving family including her daugher, Ann Wheeler and husband Ken Sr.; grandchildren, Ken Wheeler, Jr. and wife DeAnne, Mark Wheeler and Suzie Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Emily Wheeler, Rachel Balser, Ken Wheeler, III, Hannah Balser, Katelyn Balser, Drew Wheeler Ashton Wheeler, Sloane Wheeler and Samantha Balser and several “butterfly cousins”.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Clyde, John Truitt, Clay Cavender, Ken Wheeler III, Drew Denman, and Drew Wheeler.
