Tilfred R. Eades, 79, of Lexington, died 10:30 a.m. Dec. 6, 2017, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Tilfred was born Aug. 11, 1938 in Bloomington, the son of Ralph and Isabelle Geiger Eades. He married Barbara L. Harrison on June 27, 1959 and she died May 10, 2016.

Surviving are four children, Joe (Laurel) Eades, Clinton; Diane (Tim) Overholser, Colfax; Beth Eades, Bloomington and Todd (Carol Etchison) Eades, Hudson; one sister, Ilene Williams, Clinton; three half sisters, Loretta, Patricia and Marsha; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Tifred worked for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for 24 years and then as a lead mechanic for Nestle Beich in Bloomington, retiring after 25 years. He owned and operated Fin & Feather pet shop and Companion Cockers with his wife Barb. He also loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
