The beautiful Ms. Mary Armenta was welcomed into heaven on Thursday, March 9, 2017. In the comfort of her home, and with her loved ones by her side, she surrendered peacefully following a long battle with cancer.
Mary enjoyed life to the fullest, and was most happy when surrounded by her children. From the time they were small to the very last moment of her life here on earth, they always brought her incredible joy. Those who were closest to her will always be comforted knowing she is once again with her angel Abel, her son who died of leukemia when he was just seven years old.
There was always a treat at the center of Mary's small dining table. She loved to have daily visits from family and friends, of which she had so many - truly a living community tribute to how much she is loved.
Mary volunteered at the food bank and always had compassion for those who needed some extra help in life. She also worked at Stokely-Van Camps and as a caregiver for many years.
Within her petite exterior was great strength, kindness, generosity and love all wrapped up in a fiery spirit. Her sharp wit and wisdom stayed with her even through sickness.
Mary's life will continue to be celebrated by her children: Joe Jr., John, Jesse and Karen, Mary Ann and Mike, Benny, Betty, Anthony and Pam, David, and Fred Perez. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
We are so happy you are home with our Lord, but you will be missed beyond what words could ever say. A more extraordinary woman was never born. All our love to you, Mom. We will see you again.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Kern Funeral Home, with a pot luck to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial gift to the Cancer Care Center of Mount Vernon, 307 S. 13th St. #100, Mount Vernon, WA 98274.
Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home.
