Albert B. "Jim" Quattlebaum, 86, husband of the late JoAnn Chavous Quattlebaum, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Doctor's Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at Miracle Baptist Church Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend John Bartlett and the Reverend David Shelton officiating. Mr. Quattlebaum will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Quattlebaum, a native of Waynesboro, GA, had made Augusta his home for most of his adult life and was the son of the late William James and Pauline Kneece Quattlebaum. He had retired as a Millwright from International Paper Company after 35 years.

Mr. Quattlebaum had a giving heart and was led by the Lord to serve and help others. He was a devoted member of Miracle Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Forever Young Sunday School Class. He was a Deacon and later an Elder, served on the Building Committee and was in charge of the Men's Meeting which hosted a wild game supper every year. He and Mrs. Quattlebaum were in charge of the Joy Club and hosted many gospel singings at their home. He always had a smile and loved to tell about Jesus.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, John Garrett Quattlebaum.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Elise Quattlebaum of Augusta; daughters and son-in-law, Julie Quattlebaum of Augusta, and Lynn and Walt Campbell of Evans; his granddaughter, Bailey Campbell; his brother, J.P. Quattlebaum; and his sister, Edith Rachels.

Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons and Elders of Miracle Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Miracle Baptist Church, 1308 Hephzibah-McBean Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815.

The family will receive friends this Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
