Melvin Bryan Tillery, 87, of St. Joseph, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Melvin was born December 17, 1929 to Monroe and Marilla (Sharp) Tillery in Pottsville, Arkansas. Melvin honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Frances Tillery, son – Thomas Eddie, daughters – Ruby Jewel and Robbie Ann, brothers – Eugene and Floyd, and grandson – Jason Michael.

Melvin is survived by his children – Charles Bryan Tillery and Barbara Jean Hicks both of Fennville, brothers – Thomas Leon Tillery of Fennville and Billy Joe Tillery of Alabama. 14 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ron Hall officiating at the funeral home. Melvin will be laid to rest at the Fennville Cemetery.
