Gloria R. Lovette, 94, of Lock Haven passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at The Williamsport Home.

Born on Sept. 28, 1923, in Hastings, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Stephen and Ida Wesner Brazill.

A 1941 graduate of Spangler High School, she went on to earn her degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Radiology, graduating in 1943.

On Aug. 16, 1947, she married the love of her life, Jeremiah “Ralph” Lovette, who preceded her in death in 2011.

Gloria was employed at Jamison Memorial Hospital in New Castle from 1946 until 1947. Most of her career as an x-ray technician was spent in the Lock Haven Hospital’s X-Ray Department.

She was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish, Lock Haven.

Gloria was one of the first volunteers at Infant Development as well as volunteering at Dickey Elementary School and as a literacy coach at Ross Library.

Gloria enjoyed gardening as well as doing needlepoint and braiding rugs.

Surviving are three sons, Ralph T. and Karen Lovette of Magnolia, Del., James S. and Judy Lovette of Lock Haven and Patrick R. and Sue Lovette of Johnstown; two daughters, Jere and Jerry Hoy of Lock Haven and Amy and Craig Keen of Mill Hall; 12 grandchildren: Frederick and Angie Hoy, Brian and Lori Hoy, Audra and Jean Balizaire, Jocelyn and Andrew Villecco, Alyson and Ashley Mills, Ryann and Nilda Soto Lovette, Andrew J. Lovette, Ashley and Justin Price, Amanda and Jordan Nyman, Loni and Robbie Risley, Jacob Lovette, and Annah Lovette; 16 great-grandchildren: Gage Hoy, Jeremiah Hoy, Frederick Hoy, III, Zach Thomas, Ariel Brown, Imani Brown, Jedidiah Balizaire, Joshua Balizaire, Hayden Mills, Kaylee Mills, Roman Villecco, Evan Villecco, Emily Price, Tyler Price, Conner Nyman and Morgan Nyman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy, John and Jim.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven, with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the J. Ralph and Gloria R. Lovette Family Scholarship at Lock Haven University, the Lock Haven Catholic School, or the Ross Library to be used in their Children’s Library.
