Delia Gray Brown Schlosser, 89, lifelong resident of Brunswick, died peacefully on December 6, 2017. Born January 25, 1928 in Brunswick, she is preceded in death by her late husband of 63 years: Joseph Leo Schlosser, Sr.; and daughter Joann.
Delia, fondly called Doodle by her friends, was a wonderful devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved her family, her friends, and entertaining. She was always the life of the party. She loved Georgia Tech, the beach, the Braves, a good slice of pound cake and a well stirred Manhattan. Doodle was a 1946 graduate of Glynn Academy. She was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Church for 60 years.
Survivors include her three children: Teresa (Walter) Smith of Atlanta, Joe (Amy) Schlosser of Atlanta, and Janie (Tom) Anderson of Jacksonville. Brothers: Bill Brown, Bob Brown and Sister Sarah Ratcliffe. Delia had 6 grandchildren: Miles Howard, Jacksonville; Tina (Scott) Ritch, Atlanta; Travis (Marisa) Smith, Atlanta; Martha Howard, Philadelphia; Alex Schlosser, Atlanta; Hannah Schlosser, Atlanta. Three step-grandchildren: Brooke Anderson, Courtney Anderson, Allie Anderson all of Jacksonville. And two great grandchildren: Addison Ritch and Knox Howard.
Her family will receive friends at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday, December 7th and Friday, December 8th at 1:00pm. Services will be Friday 2:00pm at the funeral home with Father Tim McKeown officiating. Interment will follow the services at Palmetto Cemetery. Pallbearers: Miles Howard, Travis Smith, Alex Schlosser, Scott Ritch, Tom Anderson and Paul Scott.
