A daughter of the late Augustus and Ollie Mayfield Hiott, she had lived in Greenwood for 29 years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Wideman of Greenwood; a son, Frankie Murrah of Greenwood; two stepsons, Yancey and Vernon Murrah of Ninety Six; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Latrelle Berry and Mrs. Emma Wood of Greenwood; five sisters, Mrs. Irene McCallister of Greenwood, Mrs. Clara Boyles of Greer, Mrs. Myrtice Rollinson of Belton and Mrs. Vennie Holland and Mrs. Ruth Guthrie of Williamston; and two brothers, Tom Hiott of Columbia and Wayman Hiott of Belton.
