Freda (Hamlin) deGruchy was born on November 7th, 1921 to John and Ada (Phipps) Hamlin in Enterprise, OK and went to be with the Lord on December 5th, 2017 in Quinton, OK at the age of 96.

The most important goals in her life were taking care of her kids and serving the Lord. She was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church where she taught the adult ladies Sunday school class for several years. She took that class very seriously and if you stopped by her house through the week you would find her sitting in her recliner with her Bible in her lap preparing for her Sunday school lesson.

She is survived by one son, Harold Wayne Alverson and wife, Mary, of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; one daughter, Billie Diane (Alverson) Shank and husband, Joe, of Brooken, Oklahoma; 5 Grandchildren: Michael Alverson, Dana Alverson, Tonya Barbee, Tamara Downs and Tanner Shank; 12 Great-Grandchildren: Timothy Danel, Kevin Butler, Sabrina Maynard, Wade McLemore, Damon Cohen, Colton Alverson, Cainan Cohen, Sara Alverson, Andrew Alverson, Bradley Alverson, Rowdy Downs, Ty Downs; Sister-in-Law, Ruby Hamlin; Several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her precious little girl, Shirley Jean Alverson; her parents; three sisters, Muriel Stuenkel, Mildred Boyd and Hattie Seabolt; six brothers, Leon Diamond, Connie Hamlin, Leotis Hamlin, Cleatis Hamlin, Gilbert Hamlin and Jack Hamlin; and also a special sister-in-law, Frances Alverson and friend, Ruth (Dutch) Hale.

Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Enterprise Baptist Church in Enterprise, Oklahoma with Rev. Don Duvall and Rev. Dave Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Brooken Cemetery in Brooken, Oklahoma.

Active pallbearers will be Jack Hamlin, Leon Strain, Tom Alverson, Ray Miller, Allen Miller, Daryl Miller and Stanley Hamlin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sherman Stockton, Terry Lightle and Brad Strain.

Services entrusted to Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Stigler, Oklahoma.
