Patsy Ann (Bowman) Abernathy, 83, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at her home. She was born January 26, 1936, in Tell City, Ind., to the late Thomas and Mary (Little) Bowman.
She worked as a hair dresser for many years, the Whirlpool Corporation, and was a member of the Local #808. Patsy was also a member of the First Baptist Church and was the president of her Sunday School Class, known as the Come Double Class. She was also a member of her Church's Joy Group and volunteered as the Attendance Record Keeper. Patsy was affiliated with the National Campers and Hikers Association for 50 years, was a member of the Germania Maennerchor Ladies Auxiliary for 28 years, and was an accomplished quilter. She was also a member of the Rainbow Quilting Club. Patsy loved to sew, camp, and was an avid collector.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Van Winkle and Georgia Williams; and her husband of 55 years, James Abernathy.
