She worked as a hair dresser for many years, the Whirlpool Corporation, and was a member of the Local #808. Patsy was also a member of the First Baptist Church and was the president of her Sunday School Class, known as the Come Double Class. She was also a member of her Church's Joy Group and volunteered as the Attendance Record Keeper. Patsy was affiliated with the National Campers and Hikers Association for 50 years, was a member of the Germania Maennerchor Ladies Auxiliary for 28 years, and was an accomplished quilter. She was also a member of the Rainbow Quilting Club. Patsy loved to sew, camp, and was an avid collector.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Van Winkle and Georgia Williams; and her husband of 55 years, James Abernathy.
