Bill's life was his family. He was especially enamored of his daughters who he taught to handle a manual transmission, drive a motorcycle and how to shoot a gun. Even though his worldwide travels before they were born includes the Great Pyramids in Egypt, the TajMahal in India and Iguazau Falls in Brazil, his most cherished trips were scuba diving with his girls in the Bahamas and in the waters North of Venezuela.
He held a Master Scuba Diver Certification and was a member of the Pittsburgh Zoo/PPG Aquarium Scuba team. He was also a twin-engine pilot and more recently, a licensed firearms dealer.
Everything Bill touched, he made better. His patience and sweet temperament will be forever missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Sharon (Knapp) Delp and daughters, Cassandra (Dr. Ashraf) Reyad of Baltimore, MD and Dr. Hannah (Dr. Jason) Brehm of Newport, PA.
Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Joan Knapp of East Oakmont, his sister, Nancy (Harry) Krug of Jacksonville, FL, and brother(s), Robert Delp of Natrona Heights (and Tommy). He leaves to mourn him, sister-in-law, Judith (James) Innes of Hesperia, CA, and brothers-in law, Paul (Pamela) Knapp, David (Patricia) Knapp, and Mark (Irna) Knapp all of Pittsburgh.
Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 3-9 p.m. at the Burket-Truby Funeral Home Cremation & Alternative Services, Inc., 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont (PA).
Funeral Service Monday, December 4, 2017, 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in the Verona Cemetery, Oakmont (PA).
Donations may be made in his name to any Wounded Warrior Project or the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
