Dorothy M. Salmonson

A 1930 Washougal High School graduate, Dorothy Mabel Salmonson, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, in Vancouver. She was 89.

Mrs. Salmonson was born Sept. 15, 1911, in Glenwood, Ore. After she married, she lived in the Mount Pleasant area for more than 60 yearsl

Her husband of 55 years, Arnold, died in 1987.

Mrs. Salmonson was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, cake decorating, gardening and flowers. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbor Club and Skamania County Historical Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Faler of Manning, Alberta, Canada, and Jeanne Kinart of Washougal; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

There will be a private service. Inurnment will be in Washougal Cemetery.

Straub's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
