Ethel was born in Anderson Co, TX to Edmond Kennedy and Mary Jane Huddleston Camp. Her parents are buried in Ferguson Cemetery. She was residing in San Antonio in Bexar Co, TX at the time of her death there. She shares a stone with her husband, William Jackson Dodson, who she married 25 October 1914 in Anderson County. Their son, Earl Dodson, is also buried in Ferguson Cemetery. She was survived by two sons, E. K. "Bob" Dodson of Phoenix, AZ and Henry Dodson of El Paso; one stepson, Lee Dodson of Dallas; four daughters, Marie Hamby of Quanah, Yvonne Barclay of San Antonio, Omaleta Mouchette of Groves, and Joyce McKenzie of Bard, CA; one brother, E. Q. Camp of Baytown; two sisters, Callie Scott of Baytown and Mary Lee Guest of Henry, Ne; 26 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Tuesday, 5 November 1974.
