Samuel J. Bickley. 79, a well-known Sanduskian and city electrical inspector for 30 ½ years, died Sunday in Good Samaritan Hospital after a two year illness. He made his home at 1019 Perry St.
Mr. Bickley was appointed city electrical inspector in October, 1922 and served in that capacity until his retirement on April 30, 1953. He was born in Port Huron, Mich, and came to Sandusky a year later with his parents. He was the last survivor of a family of 12 children.
Mr. Bickley was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Perseverance Lodge 329 F&AM; Sandusky City Chapter 72, RAM; Singara Grotto, High Twelve Club. He was also a life member of the Sandusky Sailing Club, a charter member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, member of the Sandusky Fire Fighters, Local 327 and the Golden Age Club.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James M. Robinson, Galion; Mrs. Maurice P. Fenton and Mrs. J. Donald Alley, both Sandusky; two sons, Ellsworth and Lynn, both Sandusky; 13 grandchildren, 16 great­-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the David Suitor Funeral Home, where Masonic services are to be held at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, the Rev. Alton Loar, officiating. Burial is to be in Oakland Cemetery.
If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the memorial fund of Emmanuel Church.

Pallbearers were: Fire Chief Paul Bing, Assistant Chief Marvin Johnson, Norris Richards, Ralph Windisch, Donald Ringholz and Loyal Roesch, also, Robert Grathwol, Ralph Andres, Allen McGreevey, Dennis Wiever, Thomas Pusateri and Charles Ulmer of the police department.
