Charles E. Dufer, a well known Rio Grande conductor, died at his home 12 Dec 1903 in Ogden, Utah. Mr. Dufer was taken seriously ill at Denver from diabetes, arriving home to die. He had been here for nearly 20 years, a trusted employee of the Rio Grande, and about half of that time he was employed as a conductor. He was an enterprising and a popular member of the community and his death causes sorrow among a large number of friends. He leaves his wife and one child. He was a member of the Masonic Order and a member of the Railway Conductors. These two organizations will conduct the funeral services which are to occur at his residence.
