EVANS MILLS, N.Y. — Ruth C. Moran, 83, Evans Mills, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Born Oct. 7, 1927, in Theresa, a daughter of Carl and Nora DeYoung Chisamore, she graduated in 1945 from Watertown High School and attended Plattsburg State University for nursing.

She married Nelson J. Moran on May 7, 1949, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. The couple moved to Evans Mills in 1958. Mr. Moran died February 12, 2003.

After her marriage Mrs. Moran was employed with the Agricultural Insurance Company. In 1967 she began working for Evans Mills Elementary School in the cafeteria, during her employment she became the attendance secretary, assisted transfer students and was a member of the Parent Teachers Organization. She retired in 1991.

Mrs. Moran was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Evans Mills and a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

She enjoyed bird watching, reading, civil war history, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles.

EVANS MILLS, N.Y. — Ruth C. Moran, 83, Evans Mills, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
