Albert M. Palko, rear 418 E. Carleton Ave., was pronounced dead on arrival at the Hazleton State General Hospital on Monday afternoon. Born in Eckley, he was a son of Anna (Castura) Palko and the late Joseph Palko. He lived in the Hazleton area his entire life. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of Holy Trinity (Slovak) Church, Drake-Wear Post 589, VFW, and Hazleton Moose Lodge 202. He had been employed for many years as a truck driver for the John Ford Trucking Co., and more recently, as a shipper for the Publix Shirt Corp. He was preceded in death, in addition to his father, by two brothers, Joseph and Thomas. Surviving are his mother, who lives in Coxeville; his widow, the former Congetta Manna; three brothers, John, Hazleton; William, Carteret, NJ., and Richard, Newark, Del. and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Novotnak, Coxeville. The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a m from the Fierro Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Slovak Church at 9:30. Interment will be in St Gabriel's Cemetery.
