LeOra McLain Andersen, 87, passed away peacefully, with her family near, on November 27, 2017 in Montpelier, Idaho, where she resided. LeOra was born on July 4, 1930 in Bancroft, Idaho to Lewis McLain and Rachel Barfuss McLain. She was the oldest of six children. She grew up in Bancroft and graduated from North Gem high school. In 1955, she married Alvin Andersen in the LDS Idaho Falls temple and they had two children, Robert and Bonnie. LeOra was an avid sports fan. She loved to watch and talk about the Utah Jazz. She rarely missed a game. Camping was another favorite past time, she enjoyed sitting by the fire and was often found fishing long after everyone else had given up. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and collected cook books. For many years, she cooked for the cowboys at cow-camp, during the fall round-up. It wasn't until later in her life, that she missed the Idaho State Fair. She attended almost every year and loved spending time there with her family. You could always find her near the McLain's horse stalls. LeOra spent a large part of her life in the bowling alley. She was a part of many leagues and teams over the years and made many friends along the way. She enjoyed being around people and spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.
LeOra is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis McLain and Rachel Barfuss McLain; her husband, Alvin Andersen and her sister Carol Parker. She is survived by her siblings, Nondus Ostler, Marthell Fowler, Don McLain and Evan McLain; son, Robert (Donna) Andersen; daughter, Bonnie (Scott) Morvant; grandchildren, Jonna (Kyle) Flahaut, Nathan (Kristina) Andersen, Randi (Jake) Hill, Ethan Sterling; great-grandchildren, Porter Andersen, Kaden Andersen, Whitney Andersen, Marley Flahaut, Jace Hill and Reece Andersen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Montpelier LDS 1st and 4th Ward building. The family will receive friends at a viewing before the funeral from 9:00 am to 10:45 am.
