Ray William Hindman
January 18, 1946 - November 28, 2017

Ray William Hindman was one of two sons born to Lloyd and Jessie Hindman of Spur, Texas. He loved his Lord and was active in his church where he served in many capacities. He was an active member and servant of the communities in which he lived.

During his years in the Spur school system, he was in FFA, speaking events, drama, was a cheerleader and much more. He was known as Razor to his friends, a name given to him by a high school teacher. Ray was a cheerleader in college at California Baptist University; where he studied for the ministry and education. While attending college in California, he met and married his wife Cheryl. They have two sons, Nathan and Evan, six grandchildren and forty sheep.

Ray was a lifelong learner and spent his career in education serving as a teacher, counselor and school board member. He encouraged and supported many young people in their lives and school careers. He was also in farming and ranching. He also served on the board of directors for the Texas Southdown Breeders Association and took great joy in using his animals to help others.

Services will be held at Hodges Baptist Church, north of Abilene, Friday December 1, 2017. Interment will be at the Spur Cemetery.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, sons and their families, Brother Neal and his family, a host of cousins, and many friends.
