Warren Calvin Walker passed away Tuesday morning, March 20th, 2007 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Born on Aug. 23, 1923, Calvin lived 82 of his 83 years, in Gideon, Mo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Raymond and Maude Viola Walker; as well as his loving wife, Mary Lee Huey Walker. He is survived by two sons and their wives: Johnny & Patsy Walker and Michael & Gloria Walker. He is also survived by two grandchildren: His granddaughter, Rana Walker and his grandson and wife, Jason and Jaclyn Walker.
Calvin proudly served his country in World War II, flying over 30 missions in a B-17 bomber. As a Radio Operator and Waist Gunner, Calvin bravely flew one of his first missions over Berlin, Germany and continued his service in missions over France and Austria. He was a longtime member of the American Legion. As a strong Christian, Calvin served the First Baptist Church of Gideon for many decades as a Deacon and as the song leader, including singing at many revivals. He was also a guiding force in the Gideon community, serving as Postmaster for many years, on the School Board, Master of Ceremonies for the Labor Day reunions and also the Alumni Association. Calvin was loyal, strong, independent and intelligent. He truly loved music and all of nature. He will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed.

Visitation will be held at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon, Missouri on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.. The funeral service, on the following day, Saturday, March 24, 2007, will be held at the First Baptist Church of Gideon at 11:00 am. A graveside ceremony with military rites at Stanfield Cemetery will immediately follow.
