He was born August 29, 1942, in Macoupin County, Ill. the son of the late Alta White.
Paul worked in various auto dealerships as a mechanic and service manager. He was a former member and commander of sons of American Legion Post 492.
On May 15, 1971, in East Alton, he married Brenda (Saxton) White and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Paula Jo Dean Bristol (Rick) of Wilton, Iowa, Jacqueline Jean Spencer (Mike) of White Hall, Ill. and Robin Lynn White; five granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; special cousin, Sharon Ann White of Greenfield, Ill. and special nephew, Mark Middlecoff of Greenville, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Jo Vetterhoffer of Girard, Ill., and Rachel Renae Lyons of Waverly, Ill. and his dearly beloved pet, Kayla.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Burton and one brother-in-law, Michael Lyons.
Per his wishes the body was cremated.
A Memorial visitation will be at 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
