Surviving: husband, Herbert Johnson of Chapel Hill; son, Ronald Underwood of Asheville; daughters, Mrs. Shirley Stroup and Mrs. Joyce Hill, both of Clayton; brother, Ed Carter of Clayton; sister, Mrs. Rebecca Underwood of Hampton, Va.; half sisters, Mrs. Rosa Bridges of Clayton, Mrs. Alma Brooks of Durham; stepsons, Steve Johnson, Robert Johnson and Dan Johnson, all of Chapel Hill, Larry Johnson of Pittsboro; stepdaughters, Mrs. Faye Pointer of Asheboro, Mrs. Judy Mozingo of Suffolk, Va,; four grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren.
