COVENEY-MOYNIHAN, Dorothy M.“Dottie” (Brackett) of So. Weymouth, formerly of Randolph, passed away November 13, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of John P. Coveney and the late Cornelius Moynihan. Loving mother of Judith M. Moynihan and her husband Nelson Hernandez of Roslindale, Dorothy “DeeDee” Bennett and her husband John of Roslindale and Anne E. Cook and her husband Peter of Marshfield. Dear grandmother of Samuel and Owen Cook, Sofia Hernandez, Audrey Bennett and the late Maisy Cook. Devoted sister of the late John A. Brackett and Harold Brackett. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her dear sister-in-law Marjorie Brackett of NY. Dorothy was born in Boston and lived in Randolph for many years. She graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Arts and received her Master’s in Library Science from Simmons College. She was a retired Children’s Librarian for the Boston Public Library at the Adams Street Branch and finished her career as the Children’s Librarian at Holbrook Public Library. After her retirement she worked part-time at various libraries on the So. Shore. She was a longtime member of the Board of Trustees of the Turner Free Library of Randolph and Weymouth Public Library. Dottie was a long time active parishioner and communicant of St. Mary Church, Randolph where she taught Religious Education for many, many years. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main Street, (Rte. 28) Randolph until 9:00 AM on Friday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in Dottie’s name to the Covenant House, Covenant House, Times Square Station, P.O. Box 731,New York, NY 10108,-0900.
