Mr. Bailey was born in Upson County to the late Alven Henry and Thelma Rogers Bailey. He was married to the late Mrs. Patsy Jackson Bailey on July 2, 1955. Mr. Bailey lived in Thomaston after their marriage, until 1974. He moved to Tampa, Fl, for 29 years and returned to Thomaston in 2004. He was Owner and Operator of Bailey's Lawn Maintenance. Mr. Bailey was in the U. S. Army and stationed in Germany during the WWII Restoration Effort. He was an Avid Artist and Poet. Mr. Bailey was very proud of his late Grandfather, S. R. Rogers, a Jugtown potter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Marlow, and two brothers, Alven Bailey and Billy Richard Bailey. The Family has requested that any memorial contributions be made to T.U.A.C., P. O. Box 211 Thomaston, GA 30286.
Survivors include three daughters Julie Bailey (Emory) Morris and Debbie Bailey (Gonzalo) Suarez, both of Thomaston, Shannon Bailey (Stephen) Bentley, of Buchanan TN; two sons, Troy A. (Kim) Bailey and Patrick E. (Vickie) Bailey, both of Tampa FL; two sisters Edna (Richard) Boyles and Glynnis Fields, both of Thomaston; a brother Frank (Ana Maria) Bailey of Meansville, GA; nine grandchildren Ashely M. (Jeremy) Dubyak and Chuck (Johanna) Morris, both of Pensacola FL, Savannah Suarez, of Charlotte N. C., Troy Westley Bailey of Thomaston, Christopher (Lisa) Bailey of Holloman, NM, Allyson Bailey of Tampa, FL, Whitney (Mannie) Rivers of Decatur, GA, Alsu (Ronald) Grosse of Greenville, SC, Emerald Joy Bentley of Atlanta. three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
