Bill Monroe Altman, Sr., 70, died Thursday, November 23, 2017, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Altman was born April 9, 1947, in Florence County, son of the late Matthew Altman and Eulee Nettles Altman. He was a member of Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church and was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Altman was a veteran of the U.S Army, having served in the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star, Medal of Conduct and Combat Infantry Bridge. Mr. Altman was predeceased by a son, Will Altman and a brother, C.J. "Dunk" Altman.
