Gloster - A well-known, beloved DeSoto Parish dairy farmer, Harvey Midyett Burford passed away November 24, 2017 of a GMB brain tumor. Harvey was born February 25, 1945 in Gloster to James U. Burford and Bernice Midyett Burford. Harvey was a self-employed dairy farmer and owner of H&J Burford Trucking, Inc. He was an avid supporter of DeSoto Parish 4-H, North DeSoto Girls' Softball, Central School Auction, along with many others. When Harvey walked into a room, he smiled, shook your hand, and told you something funny. Right away you knew he was special. Not only did he share laughter and friendship, he was generous to a fault. He seldom walked away from a person in need without giving them money, paying a bill, repairing a car, or giving them a job.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice M. Burford; children, Stepheni Gentry, Matthew Burford and fiancé Stephanie Martin, and Erin Waite and husband Dustin; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; siblings, Jimmy Burford and wife Tam, Richard Burford and wife Sandy, and Sally Owen.

A celebration of life services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Rev. Ron McClellan officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Gloster, LA. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Honoring Harvey as pallbearers will be Chuck Burford, Mark Burford, Jimmy Burford, Ritchie Burford, Taylor Burford, and Frank Leone.
