Sara R. Miller, 89, of Harrisburg and formerly of Millerstown, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, November 6, 2014. She was born July 29, 1925 in Loysville to William and Edith (Barnes) Ritter. Sara was a member of the Millerstown United Methodist Church where she had held many offices and founded Call to Care-the care ministry of her church, Gold Star Member of Perry Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bird watching, sewing, knitting, flowers and watching sunrises.
Sara was the widow of Charles R. "Jiggs" Miller and is survived by her daughter, Beth A. Soutner and husband Joseph of Millerstown; daughter-in-law, Jessi Miller of Ephrata; sister, Lenore J. Ritter of Millerstown ; brother, John W. Kline of Millerstown; grandchildren, Travis J. Miller (Sarah), Chase A. Miller (Gretel) and Joanie M. Miller; and great granddaughter, Helen Rose Miller. She was preceded in death by her son, Craig R. Miller and sisters, Janet R. Davis and Larue Ritter.
Family and friends are invited to services on Sunday at the Millerstown UMC for a viewing from 1 PM until the funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor Wyatt Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.
