Final rites were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel for Elzy M. Abbott, 74, of 2409 NW 15th, a resident of Amarillo since 1933 and a retired employee of the American Smelting and Refining Co. Officiating was to be the Rev. B.L. Davis, pastor of San Jacinto Baptist Church with burial to be in Llano Cemetery.
Mr. Abbott died Tuesday night in Northwest Texas Hospital. He was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church, Odd Fellows Lodge and Woodmen of the World.
Among survivors are his wife Zelma; a son, Hubert of 117 N. Western; three brothers, Jack and Bill, both of Josephine and Lewis of 910 S. Kentucky; a sister, Mrs. Roanie Greer of Portales, N.M., five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 117 N. Western
