Earl F. “Whitey” Schatz, 66,
son of the late Regis and Clara Briendel Schatz.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools. Whitey was a retired truck driver.

On June 5, 1987, in St. Marys, he married Doreen M. “Dee” Kastner, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Betsy and her husband David of Kersey;
grandson, Dilen ; a sister, Ruth and her husband Greg of Altoona; a brother, Regis Schatz, Jr. and his wife Chris of Austin, PA;
and by his special friends, Jim Kronenwetter, Steve Curci, and Dave Raubenstrauch.

Whitey was a Veteran of the US Army and the Marine Corps and was a member of the Dagus Mines American Legion.
He was a Hot Shot Firefighter during the late 60’s and early 70’s.
Whitey loved the outdoors and his music.
At one time he had a Blue Grass radio show called “The King Buzzard Blue Grass Show”.
Whitey also worked with the Three Rivers Band during the late 80’s and early 90’s.
