FRANCES W. SHOCKLEY, Jan. 13, 1904 - Jan. 7, 1993

Frances Willie Shockley, 88, of Modesto died Thursday at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital.

Mrs. Shockley was a native of Eufaula, Okla. She lived in Waterford 20 years before moving to Long Beach. She returned to Modesto in 1990.

She was a housekeeper for Holiday Inn and a member of the Southern Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Oleta Groff of Long Beach, Louise Seals of Paris, Texas, Sue Caldwell of Clinton, Mo., Jack Shockley of Springfield, Mo., Betty Vowell of Waterford and Glenda Milovich of Modesto; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A funeral is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at Whitehurst Norton Chapel. Private burial.

She was a resident of Waterford for 20 years before moving to Long Beach. She returned to Modesto and lived at the Standford Place Retirement Center before entering the convalescent hospital.

She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.

Mrs Shockley is survived by a son, Jack Shockley of Springfield, Missouri and five daughters, Oleta Groff of Long Beach; Louise Seals of Paris, Texas; Artie Bell "Sue" Caldwell of Clinton, Missouri; Betty Vowell of Waterford, and Glenda Milovich of Modesto; 20 grandchildren, several great and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Shockley, and children, Eugene, Ruth, Billy, and Sidney Shockley.

Funeral sevices were held Monday Jan 11 at the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Burial followed at the Acacia Memorial Park.
