Sylvanus Howes, an old and respected resident of this town,died suddenly on Sunday, of paralysis of the heart, having been taken sick only the day before. Mr. Howes was born in Middlebury June 13, 1823, and has always lived in this county—for 20 years or more on his farm on the east hill. He leaves a wife and two daughters—the wives of C. H Agar and Wesley Marchant.
