Charles L. "Charlie" Buddemeyer, 74, of Palmyra, formerly of Emden and previously of Belle, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
Charles was born May 7, 1943, in St. Louis County, to Kenneth W. and Agnes Glandon Buddemeyer. They preceded him in death.
Charles was formerly married to Donna Butler and Velda Yungman. He later married Linda Snider on Dec. 21, 1996, in Emden. She survives.
Charles was a former Maries County commissioner, former pastor of Belle Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, former owner of C and L Kennels in Emden and former owner of Buddemeyer Trucking. He loved to fish, especially for crappie. He also enjoyed golf, mini rod pulling and he loved animals. He loved his dogs and the chickens he raised. Charles was very opinionated and enjoyed exchanging opinions with his friends on Facebook. He was a Christian by faith and truly loved Jesus. More than anything he loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren.
Other survivors include his children, Charles Dwayne Buddemeyer of Bland, Carl Dean Buddemeyer of Belle, Matthew Rogers of Belle, Brandi Lynn Jones of Cameron and Lindsey Jo Creekmore of Chillicothe; one stepson, Michael Stanbridge of Quincy, Ill.; three brothers, Ronald Buddemeyer of Bland, Keith Buddemeyer of Union and Michael Buddemeyer of St. Clair; one sister, Ruth Ann Montgomery of Fulton; 11 grandchildren, Charles Dwayne Jr., Brock, Garit, Jada, Dillon, Paige, Brianne, Gage, Brodi, Ledger and Bayne; and two great-grandchildren, Leighton and Gracie. He's also survived by numerous extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Brenda Vandegriffe; and one brother, Kenneth "Luke" Buddemeyer.
