Mildred Maye Holm, 96, passed away May 23, 2019, at the Morris County Hospital. She was born August 6, 1922 in Alta Vista, Kansas the daughter of Jesse and Eva (Swartz) Rinabarger. She grew up in Alta Vista, attending the schools there and graduated from Alta Vista High School in 1941. She married Loren Holm April 2, 1943 in Alta Vista. They had three daughters: Connie, Barbara, and Dorothy. They lived in the rural Dwight area 73 years before making their home in the Council Grove Assisted Living in 2016.

Mildred was an active partner with Loren in their farming operation. She was an Elder, serving on the Session in the Dwight Presbyterian Church, active in Presbyterian Women, member of Eastern Star, Delta Sigma Delta, Morris County 4-H Foundation, Morris County Farm Bureau. She was a Sunday School teacher, 4-H leader, a Volunteer Librarian at the Dwight Library, quilter with the Presbyterian Ladies, and served on the election board many years.

She loved having her grandchildren visit or visiting them. Together with her husband, she traveled over most of the United States and a great many locations outside the country. She was a good seamstress and cook, enjoyed various crafts, made quilts, and enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, J.L. Rinabarger.

Surviving are her husband, Loren; daughters: Connie (Gary) Burton, Barbara (Tom) Foncannon, and Dorothy (Jim) Bock; Grandchildren: Terry (LuAnn) Burton, Ginger (Ken) Updegrave, Brett Foncannon (Shelley Trujillio) , Kent (Renee) Foncannnon, Lauren Bock (Jafar Tabaian), Drew Bock (Emily Isler); Great grandchildren: Nathan (Jennifer), Nicholas, and Andrew Burton, Turner and Erik Updegrave, Scarlet, Nolan and Vivienne Foncannon; Great-great-grandchildren: Jacob and Benjamin Burton.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29th at the Zeiner Funeral Home, Flint Hills Chapel, 137 N Union, Council Grove. Interment will follow at the Dwight Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Morris County 4-H Foundation. They may be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, PO Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
