She was a graduate of Mansfield High school class of 1972 and later graduated from TCU with a bachelors degree and received her Master and her Librarian certification from Texas Tech University. Upon graduating from TCU she moved to Spur, TX and was married to the love of her life for 38 years, Bobby Rex Baker. They married in Mansfield, TX on March 17, 1979. Her passion was working with kids. She taught first grade and was the school Librarian for 40 years. Cindy was a strong woman of Faith, and shared her faith with others by teaching Sunday school (grades 1st-5th) faithfully for 18 years. She loved reading books, helping her family every chance she got, and her grandkids who knew her as CeCe.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Baker; sister, Amy Riordan; brother, Chris Allen and wife Barrie; daughters, Drew Humphreys and husband Matt and Erin Yates and husband Justin; one niece, Riley Riordan; one nephew, Curtis Allen; five grandchildren Laleigh, Berkley, and Kreed Humphreys, Ryker and Chaz Yates; many cousins and one dog Allie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claud Wesley Allen Jr. and Sarah Ann Allen.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 18th at the First United Methodist Church in Spur, TX followed by interment at the Spur Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7:00 P.M. at Zapata Funeral Home.
