Georgie LaRou Wims Walls was born to William (Bill) Davis and Ina Mabel Rogers Wims on February 6, 1920 in Roby (Fisher County), Texas. She moved to San Angelo in 1927 and attended School in San Angelo.

LaRou married Audie Monroe (Mutt) Jones on august 29, 1940 in El Paso, TX. Mutt died October 29, 1944. One son was born to LaRou and Mutt, William Allen (Jeffery) Jones on October 31, 1941.

She married Wilford E. (John) Walls on January 20, 1946 in San Angelo. John and La Rou were married for 50 years.
LaRou was a child of God since 1933. She was baptized in the fork of the Concho River in San Angelo. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

LaRou had many jobs in her lifetime. She worked as a welder at consolidated Shipyard in Orange, Texas during the Second World War. She worked on destroyers. LaRou also worked for Independent Greet and Bell Telephone company. She worked at Monarch Tile Company. Her last and the one she spoke of most often was a barber and hairdresser until her retirement in 1972. LaRou was also a very talented artist.

LaRou was a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Businessmen’s Bible Class.

LaRou was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, son, brother; Lloyd Wims, sisters; Lano Meeks, Willie Tooke and Ethel Romans.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Heather Cole and husband, Steve; one grandson, Allen Jones and wife, Calleen; two great granddaughters, Bridgett and Shannon Cole, all of California and several nieces and nephews. La Rou also leaves behind her extended family of Bob and Louise Kinsley, Dana and Carolyn Tipton, Robert and Doris Denhel and Donnie and Kay Bruton.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday November 16, 2017 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
