THOMAS GODDARD
(1886-1958)
Thomas Goddard, 71, of 4374 Rhodes Ave., New Boston, died Wednesday at 2:40 p.m. in Mercy Hospital where he had been a patient for two days.
He was born a son of Lon and Mary Tannan Goddard in Augusta, Ky., on July 7, 1886.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Kennard Goddard; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hoy of Lancaster, Calif.; three sons, Cecil of Tampa, Fla., John, 4735 Rhodes Ave., Chester of Washington D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Abby Reyner of Columbus and mrs. Maude Hartung of Port Washington, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
A daughter, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
A retired steelworker, Mr. Goddard came to New Boston 40 years ago.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Morton Funeral Home, New Boston, Rev. Alonzo Ferguson will officiate with burial in Black Oak Cemetery, Lewis County, Ky.
