Levi J. Boles, aged 72 years living in Milford township died on the 1st of February. He leaves a large family, all grown. Mr. Boles for many years was quite a prominent man in this county. Of late he has taken no active part in county matters. He was largely connected in the township and highly respected by all who knew him. All of the older citizens of this county knew him personally.
Levi married Mary Jane Skaggs on January 31, 1847, in Buchanan County, Missouri. They had 12 children: Jim, Elizabeth, William, John, Mary, Anna, Florence, Robert, Lou Ella, Ed, George, and Cora Elsie.
Note: Family members report that he was born on February 2, 1820; however, his tombstone shows February 12.
