Spc. Anthony A. Kaiser of Narrowsburg, N.Y., was 1998 graduate of Narrowsburg High School grew up in Skinners Falls then went on to graduate from the New York State Police Academy in 2004 and was assigned to Troop C's Sidney Barracks. Before joining the military, Kaiser worked for the Narrowsburg Fire Department and the state police. He was the 16th local service member to die in connection with the war in Iraq. He entered the Army in Sept. 2005. He earned the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon. His mother died when he was 13 and his older brother, Brian, was killed in a car accident in 1997. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star. He was 27.
