HILLERY, IONA "SUSIE" (HAM), was born on December 17, 1928, in Boone County IN. After living on the family farm in Boone County, she and her family moved to Indianapolis in 1940. In 1941 her future husband, Jim Hillery, moved to Indianapolis where they met at Public School 54. Both attended Centenary Christian Church where they were married March 13, 1954. In 1966, they moved to Orlando where they raised their two children, Bill and Mary. Susie retired from the Orange County School System in 1990 where she worked in the guidance office at Oak Ridge High School. Susie was active in the Disciples of Christ Church at the local, state, and national level. She was a church elder, held several CWF offices, and was the first female Chairman of the Board of Church Extension. Susie is survived by .... The family requests that in lieu of flowers you make donations to the Central Christian Church Kitchen Fund or the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, April 4th at Central Christian Church, 250 W. Ivanhoe Blvd. Orlando, FL 32804. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 5th at Central Christian Church. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by BALDWIN FAIRCHILD PINE CASTLE CHAPEL 5800 Hansel Avenue. Orlando, FL 32809 (407) 855-5800.
