Mr. Gawne was a retired farmer, having moved to the village 14 years ago. For 55 years he had resided on a farm two miles northwest of Oxford on the College Corner pike, where at the age of 14 he had come from New York City, with his parents.
The deceased is survived by the widow and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Stout, of College Corner.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock by Rev. R.G. Riemann, of the First Presbyterian church. Burial in Oxford Cemetery.
