Clayton, July 12 -- George Bowman, a retired farmer who had been making his home in Clayton for several years, died Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Mr. Bowman's former home was near Siloam, where he spent his active years in farming.

He leaves surviving five children: E. D. Bowman of Colorado; Mrs. Hervy Tillings of Siloam; Mrs. Frank Syrkle of Clayton; Mrs. John Sparks of Clayton; and Harry Bowman of Clayton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baptist church.
