Rudolph "Rudy" Baca, age 93, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on November 6, 2017.
Rudolph was preceded in death by his wife, Urcy, their beloved son, Brucie, his parents, Jake and Lucille and five siblings, Lucille, Jake Jr., Eleanor, Irene and Mario.
Rudy is survived by three siblings, Bernie, Natalie and Robert, seven children, Rudy, Gloria, Mark, Monica, Celia, Patricia and Lucille, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At the age of 17, Rudy hopped a train to Bremerton, Washington where he worked on Navy ships during World War II. Rudy became one of the first master plumbers in Albuquerque and was active in the Old Town community for many years. Always a hard worker, Rudy partook in many different ventures including Boy Scout leader, restaurateur and landlord.
Rudy had great passion for politics and served one term as State Representative where he advocated for the people in his community.
Rudy had a heart of gold and touched the lives of many people with his generosity. His family meant the world to him and he was an amazing father and grandfather. His faith and strong will carried him through many tribulations throughout his life. Rudy as a good friend to all who knew him.
Rudy will be missed dearly and will never be forgotten.
Rudy's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Friends and family are welcomed to attend. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
