In the 1850 Census for St. Clair County, Alabama he is found living in dwelling 29. Isham (35, M, Farmer, $550, TN and could read and write), Selvina (26, F, Wife, Alabama, could read and write); Brittin (11, M, Alabama, attended school); Frances (8, F, AL); Allece (7, F, AL); Burtis (5, M, AL) and Sonisia (1, F, AL). In 1854 he and Sylvia Anne moved their family from St. Clair County, Alabama to Texas. In 1856 he moved to Milam in Sabine County, Texas. They went to Texas crossing the Sabine River near Milam. They traveled across the Old San Antonio Road to what was then Washington County and settled at a little village called Evergreen about 12 miles from Giddings, now in Lee County. Sometime before 1860, Isham and Sylvia sold their land and moved their family to Sabine county in the piney woods of East Texas. The information on this family were copied from pieces of an old family Bible that the individual's grandmother had kept.
