Word was received in Pottsville Saturday morning of the death of a former resident, Peter Hawk, (sic. Hauck) formerly of 513 Carbon street, who died in the Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, early Saturday Morning.
Mr. Hawk was a native of Mainville and lived in this city for years. He was a lifetime employee of the Penna. R. R. and for years was crossing watchman at Arch St.
The family moved to Wilkes-Barre during the Summer and Mr. Hawk (sic Hauck) visited friends here only last month.
One son, Samuel, with whom he resided in Wilkes-Barre, survives.
The funeral arrangements are being completed by Wm. Fermier, from whose funeral home on W. Market St. the funeral will be held."
