Bernard Clarke Kirk, 90, of Rocky Mount, died Sunday, November 30, 1997.

Mr. Kirk was a retired conductor from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 44 years service, was a member of Rocky Mount Christian Church, and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Oliver Clinton Kirk.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Annie Arrington Kirk; two sons, Robert C. Kirk, Fred G. Kirk, both of Martinsville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Price Kirk, Rocky Mount, Alton Kirk, Penhook, Paige Kirk, Collinsville; one sister, Marion Lovell, Martinsville.

Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Virgil Knipp and the Rev. Joe Lindsoe officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to Rocky Mount Christian Church, 120 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
