Greene - Westford Milton "Wes" Hannan, 79, of Greene, Maine, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours on Saturday October 28, 2017, at the Hospice House in Auburn, after a long courageous battle with chronic lung disease.

Born on April 12, 1938, he was the son of Chester "Fes" and Alma Hannan.

Wes grew up in Union and graduated from Union High School in 1956.

He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Santa Barbara, Calif., and the Santa Barbara Masonic Lodge #192, F. and A.M.

Wes held various careers over the years, delivering milk for Round Top Dairy, and cutting meat and managing stores for First National Stores. He owned and operated the Four Winds Restaurant in Boothbay Harbor and managed several other restaurants in the Santa Barbara, Calif., area. In the later part of his career, he was employed as a tour bus driver for Santa Barbara Air Bus in Santa Barbara, Calif., where he lived for several years.

Wes so enjoyed spending time with his family and family pets. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed playing on his laptop computer and watching shows on his big screen TV. He was a self-taught computer and DirecTV guru, and in earlier years he was an avid golfer.

Wes will be very sadly missed by his son, Mark Hannan, and his wife Dawna, of Greene, with whom he lived for the past 10 years; son, Milton Hannan, and wife Tammy, of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Brett Hannan; and his longtime companion Yvette Martin, of Crystal River, Fla.; nieces, Ramona and Jed Dennison, of Rockland; Barbara Howes and her husband Earl, of Jefferson and Port Richey, Fla.; Wanda Gamage-Wyman and her husband Joe, of Union; and Donna Pottle, of Wiscasset, granddaughter, Nichole Hannan, of Damariscotta; grandsons, Kyle and Josh Hannan, of Damariscotta; granddaughters, Elizabeth Kiker and her husband Will, of Charlotte, N.C.; Bobbi Burson and her husband Richard, of Key Largo, Fla.; Toni Manning and her husband Scott, of Tilton, N.H.; Nicole Harrington, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Josh Harrington, of Delaray Beach, Fla.; great-granddaughters, Peyton Hannan; Elyssa, Jennifer and Sarah Manning; Alexandria and Nova Burson; and Mia Lopez; and great-grandsons, Ian Manning and Ryder Raffta.

Besides his parents, Wes was predeceased by his sister, Doris Philbrook.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a funeral service to celebrate Wes' life at 1pm Wednesday, November 1, at the STRONG-HANCOCK FUNERAL HOME, 612 Main Street, in Damariscotta. Burial will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Union. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta.
