Shelby Garriott

Private funeral for Shelby Garriott, who died Friday in a local hospital, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Pearson Mortuary. Vault entombment will be at Riverview Abbey Mausoleum. Members of St. Helens Lodge No. 32, AF&AM, will participate in the services.

Mr. Garriott was born Nov. 2, 1884, in Turtle [sic] County, Ky. He was a resident of Portland more than 50 years. He resided at 818 NW 17th Ave.

Mr. Garriott, a registered nurse, had been in charge of industrial first aid work on a number of large construction projects, including Timberline Lodge. Until his retirement, he was engaged in building maintenance work.

He is survived by the widow, Laura; two daughters, Mrs. Anne Dupree and Mrs. Georgia R. Rice, both of Portland; four grandchildren, and one brother, Knoble of Bedford, Ky.

Mr. Garriott was a member of the Christian Church and of Mizpah Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
