Alvina (Mrs. Morris) Midboe, 76, died Friday, Aug. 19, 1994 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Memorial services were held Tuesday, Aug. 23, from the Granite Falls Lutheran Church with Pastor John Bjorge and Pastor Bruce Kuenzel officiating. Private interment will be held later in the Hillcrest Cemetery of rural Granite Falls. Organist at the services was Colleen Hewitt and vocal music was provided by Pastor Kuenzel.
Alvina Amanda Midboe, born Alvina Amanda Hinderman on Aug 5, 1918, was adopted at the age of 13 months by Martha and Charles Wigand of Wood Lake. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Alvina married Morris Midboe on Aug. 30, 1937 at St Luke's Church in Rapid City, SD. Seven children were born. Alvina spent most of her life in Granite Falls where she was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Morris of Granite Falls; three children: Roger of Baton Rouge, LA; Louise of Houston, TX, and Howard of Cottonwood; sister Clara (Mrs. Walter) Stroschein of Wood Lake; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four children: Sherman, Maria, Paulette and Paul and one granddaughter.
Arrangements were by Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
